San Jose Sting

The San Jose Sting 10U team placed third and will advance to play at the ASA 10U National Championship tournament in Bloomington, IN, July 27 – August 3.

 

Preparations for Nationals have begun; Sting played in a five team Friendly on June 28 in Salinas. Sting went 3-1 during the one-day Friendly against All-America, Clovis Rockets, Hollister Heat, and host Salinas Storm.  

 

Sting defeated Hollister Heat 8 -3, Clovis Rockets 7-3, and All-American 3-0; with the lone loss coming against Salinas Storm 7-3. Sting pitcher Deanne Garza had a perfect performance against a solid All-American team with strong support from the offense and defense.

 

After the July 4^th holiday, the 10U Sting team will travel to Fresno to compete in the USSSA State Tournament as a qualifier to the USSSA Western World Series in Hayward, July 20 -27.

 

The 2008 Spring/Summer San Jose Sting 10U team has compiled a stellar record this season with 40 wins, 15 losses and looks to improve on this mark in the remaining tournaments of the summer.
