Keri Ball struck out 14 and allowed 2 hits as Foothill shut out Amador Valley, 4-0, in the quarter finals of the Queen of the Mountain Tournament Friday night.

Foothill scored all 4 runs in the second inning. Victoria Louie opened with a double down the left field line, Taylor Vincent followed with a single and Jennifer Ong doubled in 2 runs. Lauren Ayers drew a walk, Kelly Sweeney singled, and another run scored when Erica Tabler hit a hard chopper that the second baseman couldn’t handle. Ball hit a long sacrifice fly to cap the 4-run inning.

Kristy Ortiz also had a single and hammered two line drives that were caught in the outfield.

The Falcons will face another EBAL foe, San Ramon, in the semi finals at 11:15 on Saturday at Willow Pass Park.
