Sanoe Kekahuna

Former Sting players continue to make their mark in college

We will like to update you on our Sting Alumni who are currently playing in the college ranks. For the latest info, please click on  College News in the navigation link as we will try to keep up. Here is some of the latest news ending in February 2008.

Sanoe Kekahuna & Valerie Arioto

Last summers Sting Gold players and current Cal freshman, Sanoe Kekahuna and Valerie Arioto have made a huge impact so far this early season for the Golden Bears.

Kekahuna a native of Hawaii has become one of the nations top big hitters. Sanoe is near the top in several Pac-10 hitting categories. Currently batting .460 with 6 HR's and 28 RBI's.

Arioto, who made the ESPN pre season players to watch list has been equally impressive. Valerie at the plate so far is batting .345 with 19 runs, 13 RBI's and 6 extra base hits and on the mound she is 3-2  with a 2.15 ERA

Kat Lawrence

St.John's freshman pitcher Kat Lawrence threw her first shutout of the season last week against Long Beach State. The freshman hurler pitched the complete game gem giving up only 7 hits and striking out 5.

Samantha Ricketts and  Chanae Jones

University of Oklahoma is off to a great start this year and currently have a #9 National ranking thanks in large part to last season's NCAA player of the year top 3 finalist Samantha Ricketts and freshman Chanae Jones. Both players have come up big at the plate this year so far. Other Sting alumni and current Sooner player, freshman Katelyn Rouppet is red shirting this year after suffering a season ending torn ACL back in September.

Nic Perales

The 2007 Big Ten conference champions, Ohio State Buckeyes are off to a sizzling start and a top #17 ranking this season. Nic has come in and had some key hits for the Buckeyes.

Brittney Hendrickson

One of the top hitters for the University of Pacific. The Valley Christian HS grad has been hitting above .300 for the Tigers this season.

Letty Olivarez

The University of Wisconsin ace pitcher has been called upon to lead the Badgers. Letty who does it not only on the mound but at the plate. Currently has 48K's and has held opponents batting around .217 when they face the Ace.

 Alyssa Esquibel

Alyssa has already belted 3 HR's for the Gator's. The recent Mitty graduate has helped SF State to 10 wins this year so far.

Jenna Yoder

Jenna has been lights out this year as the SE Louisiana ace pitcher. Currently Jenna has won 5 games while posting a 1.85 ERA..
